VERY NICE AND INTERESTING EXAMPLE OF THE MK.2 F/S KNIFE. WITH BROAD ARROW AND B2 TO THE GUARD. IN UNTOUCHED, AS FOUND CONDITION. BLADE WITH ITS BLACK FINISH AND LIGHT SURFACE RUST. NO SIGNS OF ANY PITTING. NO MOVEMENT TO THE KNURLED GRIP. THE SCABBARD A BIT DRY MISSING ITS CHAPE AND THE ELASTIC BROKEN – AS IS SO OFTEN THE CASE. THIS DAGGER WAS FOUND IN THE LIFEBOAT OF THE TRAWLER “JACINTA” IN THE 1970′S. THE JACINTA TOOK PART IN THE DUNKIRK EVACUATIONS AND WAS HELD IN RESERVE FOR THE D-DAY OPERATIONS. NOT KNOWN HOW THE KNIFE FOUND ITS WAY ONTO THE LIFEBOAT, BUT IS IS POSSIBLY IT WAS DROPPED DURING THE TRAWLERS WARTIME SERVICE. WITH AN IMAGE OF THE LIFEBOAT WHICH HAS SINCE BEEN CONVERTED INTO A FISHING BOAT AND DETAILS OF THE TRAWLER.
